Retention Summary
This summary explains the default retention posture for pilot customers. Contractual, legal, regulatory, dispute, and claim-handling requirements may require different periods.
Default application data
- Claim sessions, uploaded evidence metadata, reports, exports, and audit records are retained while needed to provide the service and support the claim workflow.
- Claimant invite links expire according to the configured invite window and cannot be reused once redeemed.
- Claimant mobile app tokens are issued with a limited lifetime and can be revoked by clearing or rotating session access.
- Support requests are retained while needed to handle the request and maintain an operational record.
Configured pruning windows
| Data type | Default configuration | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Claimant evidence sessions and files | 60 days when evidence pruning is enabled | Pilot customers should agree the actual claim retention period before enabling deletion. Explicit per-record retention dates override the default window. |
| Access audit logs | 365 days when audit pruning is enabled | Audit retention should reflect security, dispute, and regulatory needs. |
| Idempotency keys | 24 hours | Used to avoid duplicate evidence submissions from retrying clients. |
Legal holds
Claim sessions, images, claimant devices, and claimant invitations can carry retention and legal-hold markers. Evidence pruning skips sessions or records that are on hold, and customer-specific legal hold instructions should be documented before deletion automation is enabled.
Deletion requests
Privacy and deletion requests should be assessed against the relevant claim, customer contract, and legal obligations before removing evidence or audit records. Claimants should contact their claims handler or Claimsight support for routing.
